A promise :)
Ok, so for those of you who want to take a nap after reading my blog. I promise to write shorter, more concise posts once in awhile.. Maybe.
I hope you break your promise. I hope you don't begin to write concisely, unless you really feel like it, of course. Because this blog is your blog. And I feel how you write expresses how you feel. So I hope you won't switch to being "concise" simply because that seems the "correct" or "reasonable" or "nice" thing to do. I don't think being "inconcise" is "incorrect" or even inconsiderate. Reading inconcise, out-of-the-box writing that defies normal grammar rules is somehow therapeutic...
And I'll stop leaving you a huge comment now. Hmmm... but as I'm sure you know, I struggle with wanting to be concise as well. It SEEMS the right way to write. Logically. But I don't want to believe this. Writing does not have to be logical. It's not math. It's art. Hmmm... I wonder how I'll get away with teaching such writing skills in a high school classroom?
