Leveling the playing field

Topic: Advent

Writing location: Central Library

Joy spotted: As people relax, read, reflect and enjoy a warm, calm, orderly environment on the 3rd floor of the Central Library

Leveling of the playing field spotted: All sorts of people are here, from different social and economic realities and everyone seems as if they feel welcome

A place where I always feel as if the reality and the kingdom come is actually accessible: the library. Folks are welcome and seem to continually be welcomed, day-in-day out. The line outside the building each morning could be mistaken for the food kitchen line. It looks rather the same.

Except, it seems to me people are treated here with more dignity and respect than most food lines I've experienced. No one has the "you better not act crazy in here" look on their face been you walk in.

Each person is welcomed and greeted with respect.

Might the "do-gooders" and food kitchen servers come here for training? It may be helpful. And, free.
